§ 34-81. Created; benefits.

(a)

There is created the volunteer fire department, as authorized and defined under the statutes and laws of the state and having the powers and duties therein granted.

(b)

The city, for and on behalf of such volunteer fire department, adopts and elects to come under the application of V.T.C.A., Government Code § 651.001 et seq. regarding benefits payable to survivors of organizations such as the volunteer fire department.
